For Grant Makers
How you can support health and medical research
Deciding to support health and medical research is relatively easy. However, determining which specific health and medical research projects are most appropriate for your support can be challenging. It is best achieved through a pre-determined process, and you may decide that you need outside help. For example, without a scientific background, most of us would find it difficult to understand the link between research into a complex molecule and what it means for better health.
Research Australia Philanthropy has developed a comprehensive toolkit to help you support health and medical research, whether you are making an individual donation to a charitable cause or setting up a planned grant-making program.
Further information is included in the Grant Making chapter of Research Australia Philanthropy's publication, Health and medical research: A philanthropy toolkit, launched in early 2009.
Research Australia Philanthropy also has a range of services, experience and expertise to help you identify the project that meets your needs. In addition to a personal advisory service, we offer confidentiality, independent and transparent governance procedures. We have a Research Register to provide solutions. Research Australia can link you with Australia’s leading scientists drawn from our extensive member base.
